The Arc of King County has been a member-based organization since our formation in 1936. By joining, you are saying “Count me in. I’m an advocate for disability rights.”

Members receive important news updates and invitations to use their voice, gather with other members, and give feedback to The Arc on our positions and efforts.

As a member, you will join a powerful state and national network and be counted in our membership numbers when we talk to elected officials, partners, and funders.

Your membership supports the fight for our shared values, such as:

• Access to free and appropriate public education in an inclusive setting
• Safety from harm
• Support for caregivers
• Public services – from emergency response to parks & recreation – that work for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

How does membership work?

Membership is free. It only requires completing the membership form (above). Membership is not required to participate in any programming provided by The Arc.

Members of local, county-based chapters of The Arc automatically receive membership in the state and national chapters of The Arc. Membership in The Arc of the United States also includes discounted registration to The Arc’s National Convention and access to exclusive insurance coverage rates.
