FAMILY CONVERSATIONS On Racial Equity & Inclusion in Special Education

Wednesday, August 8, 2018
Haring Center EEU 1981 NE Columbia Rd, Seattle, WA 98195

Maggie Beneke and Selma Powell from the University of Washington College of Education would like to invite families to join us for a
listening session. This is an opportunity for families who have children with disabilities to discuss their experiences with issues of racial equity and inclusion in special education. We would like to hear about the skills and approaches you think are important for a teacher. We are interested in hearing about the positive experiences and challenges you and your child have experienced in schools. Your perspective will influence what we do in our Special Education Teacher Preparation Program. We especially encourage families of color to attend.
