The demand for mental health services far outweighs what is currently available. Incarcerated people with intellectual and developmental disabilities face unique challenges when accessing mental health services and interacting with the criminal justice system. However, these factors shouldn't impact their rights to timely competency evaluations and restoration. DRW wants to increase access to appropriate behavioral health services in hopes of reducing the number of individuals entering the criminal justice system. These changes will also guarantee that inmates' Constitutional rights are protected and enforced.

Do I want to attend?
- Have you received competency restoration services at facilities?
- Do you support people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and mental illness in the criminal justice system?
- Are you interested in the intersection of mental illness and incarnation?

Please contact us by June 15th, so we can fully facilitate any access requests.
