Creating Connections, Skills - Telling Your Story 101

Sharing your story can be one the most effective ways to advocate. But how do you start? In this hands-on workshop we’ll cover the basics: Help you identify what you want to say, and who your audience is. We’ll show you examples of letters, testimony and video. And then we’ll set aside time for you to craft a message.

This is the first class in our spring communication series. Next up: Telling Your Story 102 (role play and feedback); then Messaging and the Media. Classes will be facilitated by Ramona Hattendorf, The Arc of King County's director of advocacy, longtime engagement and marketing specialist, and former journalist.

The Creating Connections series is produced by the outreach team at The Arc of King County. Everyone is welcome and events are always free. We meet monthly in Federal Way, Bellevue and Seattle.
